Curriculum

The most important goal of our early childhood curriculum is to help children become enthusiastic learners. This means encouraging children to be active, creative explorers who are not afraid to try out ideas and to think independently. We allow children to learn at their own pace and in their own way. We encourage good habits and attitudes and instill a positive self-image.

At Oak Grove United Methodist Church CDC, we use The Creative Curriculum for Early Childhood, a child-based curriculum that serves as the framework for lesson plans and developmentally appropriate activities. This curriculum guides teachers to make appropriate decisions based on the needs of the children they serve. We create an environment where children can make choices, be active, observe, and experiment. Our curriculum identifies goals in all areas of development. We also work closely with parents to create a consistent foundation that fosters the growth and development of each child. Our program is Christian based and a monthly interactive "Early Christian Awareness Program" is implemented.
