About Us
We are very proud of our program, which has been accredited by The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) for over twenty years. Our center has received recognition for being in substantial compliance with Bright From The Start's Standards of Care. We have also been awarded the "Center of Distinction" honor from Bright From the Start: Georgia's Department of Early Care and Learning. This award is given to Childcare centers who demonstrate exemplary care for children from birth to age 5.
At Oak Grove United Methodist Church Child Development Center, children are viewed as individuals with unique patterns of growth. Our philosophy focuses on developing positive self-esteem and independence in our children. Children are encouraged to make choices and are provided with a variety of developmentally appropriate, hands-on learning activities. Children touch, explore, and create. We believe that children learn best by doing. Children's work is their play. Our experienced and well trained teachers provide the opportunity and environment for this learning. Our low child-teacher ratios make interactions between children and caregivers individualized and meaningful. Oak Grove Child Development Center is a place where children and adults are loved and valued as unique individuals. You can see it in our smiles!
